‘The Kate Breastplate’
First in what will be an ongoing project by Glass By Butler, the ‘Kate Breastplate” was born out of an opportunity found through the Glass Society of Ireland’s initiative and collaborative project with The Council of Irish Fashion Designers to create a “Glass Runway” with the purpose of raising the issue of gender inequality.
This breastplate was made in collaboration with Fashion Designer Noema Damaris, who created the beautiful dress with Magee tweed.
The live runway show took place at The Mac in Belfast on the 4th June 2024 with great success and was followed by an exhibition of all the selected works at The Craft NI Gallery from the 6th - 25th July 2024.
The project received great press coverage and was even featured as a double page spread in the Irish Times Magazine on June 15th 2024.
