Stained glass & repurposed citrus

The artist yet again plays with realism in glass, with dragonfly wings positioned as if perched on a branch awaiting it’s next flight. This sculptural wall hanging expresses a strong desire to survive.

Using the symbolism of the dragonfly’s ability to move in any direction, as a mirror to the human experience.

It is often our ability to pick ourselves up, brush ourselves off and move on; that defines us.

The engraved detail on the wings further adds to the artist’s desire to survive and be present in this time and place.

As one would find prehistoric engravings and paintings on a rock face, one can see the artists own claim to this place: here and now.

“I existed. I was here”
